Hello World! | Christopher Baker

Audiovisual installation fed by fragments of thousands of personal video diaries posted online. The project meditates on the complex current situation of the participative media and on the human desire to be heard. Each of the 5,000 videos forming this installation features an individual talking from a private space (bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, etc.) to an unknown and potentially massive audience. The installation explores the way in which those who speak represent themselves. Moreover, on the way in which the viewers browse the installation, whose multi-channel sound allows them to listen to individual stories or become immersed in the general cacophony.
