Openstreetmap is one of the most successful examples of a data infrastructure created with the contribution of individual people. It is a geographical information service for maps that offers an alternative to its commercial equivalents. In the last decade, over a million participants have contributed to this detailed map of the world used by numerous applications and also used successfully, for example, in humanitarian crises. Cartographer and digital artist Eric Fischer has produced these images that show the wealth of data stored by Openstreetmap.
